WEEK 3.
THE POWER OF VITAMINS IN YOUR DIET

BOOST YOUR ORGANISM WITH VITAMINS
As much as minerals, vitamins are micronutrients. They are different from macronutrients in which we find proteins, lipids, fats and carbohydrates. Among 13 vitamins we know, some may regulate the changes body experiences during peri-menopause and lower the disabling effects that may occur. Let’s see how vitamins can boost your organism and make you feel stronger.
HOW TO BOOST SKIN RADIANCE?
Oxidative stress is directly linked to the decline of estrogen. It may lead to your skin looking dull. Fortunately, proper intake of food rich in antioxidants will protect you from free radical damages while reactivating your skin radiance. Vitamins A, C, D and E, and polyphenols are very rich in antioxidants. They are mainly found in plants. So don’t hesitate to eat a lot of different fruits and vegetables. Dark chocolate is also very rich in antioxidants, such as pecan nuts and whole grains. Daily intake of these vitamins will boost cellular proliferation of your skin, its innate immunity, hydration and will modulate inflammations as well as preventing from UV damages.
It's also well-known that quality of the sleep has a real impact on skin radiance. Reducing menopausal symptoms that causing sleep troubles is then a good way to take care of it – Once again, vitamins will be your best ally. Antioxidants like vitamin C and E reduces vasomotor symptoms such as hot flashes and sleep troubles. They also reinforce the immune system and lower heart diseases risks that may later occur to some women. Citrus fruits like oranges, mandarins, grapefruit, tomatoes, red or green pepper and broccolis are full of Vitamin C. Time to create new juices and soup recipes! For vitamin E, you’ll find them in abundance into whole grains, nuts and olive oil. Beyond nutrition, simple habits can help you to reduce sleep disorders and hot flashes - and thus giving you back your most beautiful skin radiance.
WHILE GETTING NEW HABITS, ALSO TRY TO LOSE OR REDUCE THE BAD ONES!
It has recently been proven that nicotine and alcohol use within 4 hours of bedtime were associated with increased sleep fragmentation in the night. Avoiding evening alcohol and nicotine use is thus a good start to improve sleep continuity.
In the same way, avoid large meals and spicy or acidic foods before bedtime as they may trigger hot flashes.
Simple but efficient: try to stop drinking all liquids, especially caffeine, a few hours before going to bed.
If there is one thing that I’d like you to remember among all of what we've seen along the coaching is that no matter what diet suits you the best. Taking care of having a healthy diet and healthy body weight will prevent you from imminent or later disorders. And most of all, it will make you feel better in your day-to-day life.
Take care of yourself!
